Bangkok Trip

We arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on a hot and humid evening just like home. The contrast compared to KLIA is startling, traffic through Suvarnabhumi is at least four times that of KLIA as I see it, immigration check out took nearly an hour even with more than fifteen counters opened.

Like most airport, roads leading to the main city is considered as prime advertising avenues and Bangkok is no exception.

The Hotel I was staying in was the Swisssotel Le Concorde, an excellent hotel and highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is another plus factor, restaurants, local hawker food stalls, shopping centers and entertainment establishments are all within walking distance. And if one needs to go further to explore the city, the underground train subway is also conveniently located nearby.

The Dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya river, is certainly an experience not to forego when in Bangkok. Besides the excellent food served on board, the night scenery along the river is beautiful.

The Suan Lum Night Bazaar, a well organized tourist orientated night market, where I find the wood carvings for sale of special interest to me.

Departure from Bangkok is sad, which is good as it means I had enjoyed my stay but at the same time I felt relieved that I am returning to home sweet home.
